From The Heart of a Woman

Week Two

8/29/2022

This week we are reading chapter two and praying for our marriage. Based on 1 Peter 3:7, "Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered." We are praying about five specific areas of your relationship with your husband.

1. Pray for your husband's physical relationship with you - that he would want to "dwell" with you, that he would want to spend time with you. 2. Pray for your husband's intellectual relationship with you - that he would "dwell with you with understanding", that he would be sensitive to your challenges, burdens, fears, hopes and dreams. 3. Pray for husband's emotional relationship with you - "giving honor to the wife", that he would respect your thoughts and feelings, that he would not neglect you. 4. Pray for your husband's spiritual relationship with you - that he would acknowledge that you are "heirs together of the grace of life", you are a team encouraging, exhorting, and comforting one another. 5. Pray for your husband's priestly relationship with you - that he would take his role as the servant- leader of the home seriously.

On page 34 she shows how to pray the verse by putting your husband's name in. You can also use Ephesians 5:25-31 to pray over these specific areas in your marriage. I am continuing to pray for each of you that you would not grow weary in the battle. I'm sure some of you have already experienced the fiery darts of the enemy. Be encouraged, that only means your prayers are making him nervous!
