I don't know about you but this week's topic hits close to home! I need to control my tongue every minute of every day. I am praying Ephesians 4:29 for myself and my husband. I have to ask myself does my speech build up or tear down? Do I constantly criticize or do I "find the gold" in people? This verse tells us "Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers". So we pray that our words would be encouraging, edifying, and comforting. That they would bless, not curse others. This chapter contains many verses about speech that I would encourage you to read, reread, memorize and put into practice. If you don't have the book here are a few of them: James 3:5-8, Matthew 15:18-20, Luke 6:45, Proverbs 10:19, 15:1, 16:21, 16:24, Psalm 19:14 and Colossians 4:6.
