The Power of a Praying Wife Week 7

This week we are praying over our husband's mind. On Saturday at the Bible study we talked about how our thoughts are powerful, we think before we act (usually) and how sin takes place in our minds before we act. For the next seven days we are praying that Christ would take our husband's thoughts captive, that he would have a sound mind, and that he would recognize wrong thinking that comes from the enemy.

A powerful verse to pray is 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, "Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."

Power of a Praying Wife Week 6

This week we are praying about the temptations our husbands face from the world, the enemy and the flesh.
In Romans, Paul reminds us that “We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." and "
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man.  God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond
yo
ur ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." ( 1 Cor 10:13)
God promises that He will give us the power to say no when temptations come our way. So lets lift our husbands up before the throne room of God and ask God to provide "the way of escape" for both them and us.

Power of a Praying Wife week 5

Congratulations, you have made it to week five! This week we are praying about "his affection". In the book, Stormie suggests praying, "Lord remind us throughout each day to affectionately touch one another in some way." This is especially important if physical touch is one of your (or your husbands) love languages.

Let me know if these reminders are helpful to you.

The Power of a Praying Wife

Good Morning! We have reached chapter four, "His Sexuality". This is a very important topic but also one that is incredibly delicate. Please keep this in mind when sharing your prayer requests with your partner. We want to be honest and vulnerable but also respectful of our husbands.

One particular paragraph stood out to me in this chapter that I want to draw your attention to. "When we're married, our bodies are not our own. We owe each other physical attention and we're not to deprive one another. The frequency of sex depends on the other person's need, not ours alone. If your attitude about having sex comes down to only what you need or what you don't want, then you don't have God's perspective. He says our body is to be used to comfort and complete the other person. Something is built up in the man and the marriage when this need is met by his wife. Something is diminished when it is not."
